Pick Out Your Stones

Pick Out Your Stones

1 Samuel 17:40

Intro:

~ Perhaps the greatest Bible champion of all time is this one! David was said to have slain his tens of thousands and Saul his thousands. A Champion amongst men!

~ He is a man we can look up to and find strength in the Lord through his words.

~ He showed us he is merely a sinful man when he murdered Uriah and committed adultery with Bathsheba.

~ Yet we saw the tender mercies of God and His wonderful Grace when He protected and sheltered David His servant

~ God calls him a man after His own heart:

God looks for another because of the disobedience of Saul –

1Sa 13:14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

And says this:

Act 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

~ My Interest this day is the stones that he finds in the brook
